The Master’s program is intensive in nature and has a duration of two (2)
academic semesters of education (winter and spring), including the summer
period, i.e. it has a duration of one full calendar year. In accordance with the
legislation, postgraduate students are provided with the possibility of part-time
study for working students, the duration of which cannot exceed twice the
normal study period. Partial study is also provided for non-working postgraduate
students who are unable to meet the minimum requirements of the "full" study
program and for special extremely serious cases such as illness, workload,
serious family reasons, conscription, reasons of force majeure, for which it
decides the General Assembly of the School of Medicine.

Postgraduate students may be granted, upon submission of a relevant application, a
temporary suspension of studies, which cannot exceed two (2) semesters. During the
suspension, the graduate student loses the student status. The time of the
suspension is not counted towards the maximum duration of regular studies. It is
possible only in exceptional cases such as illness, workload, serious family reasons,
conscription, reasons to grant an extension of studies up to one (1) academic year,
following a reasoned decision of the regulatory committee and validation of the
decision by the General Assembly of the School of Medicine. A student can be erased
from the program for reasons such as: a) the insufficient progress of the graduate
student (which is documented by non-participation in the educational process:
attendance, exams), b) behavior that offends academic ethics such as e.g. plagiarism,
and c) application of the graduate student himself, the General Assembly of the
School of Medicine decides after a proposal of the Coordinating Committee, which
decides on the conditions of the review and the reasons for erase the student from
the program.

If the postgraduate student fails the examination of a classes or classes, up to
twice and is considered not to have successfully completed the program,
he/she is examined, upon his/her application, by a three-member committee
of faculty members of the School of medicine, who have the same or related
academic subject with the subject being examined and are defined by the
General Assembly of the School of Medicine. The review of the course(s)
takes place within a period of ten (10) days from the end of the regular
examination period in which the student fails. The person in charge of the
examination is excluded from the committee. Postgraduate students register,
after a relevant announcement from the Secretariat, and participate in the
program under the terms and conditions provided for in the relevant
program Regulations. Postgraduate students have all the rights, benefits and
facilities provided for students of the first cycle of studies, except for the right
to provide free textbooks.

The School of Medicine must ensure facilities for postgraduate students with disabilities or
special educational needs. Classes commence in the winter semester at the beginning of
October. The teaching program of each semester lasts thirteen (13) weeks. The winter
semester ends in January while the summer semester ends in June. After the end of each
semester of studies there is an examination period. The courses of the winter and spring
semesters can be examined repeatedly, one week after the end of the 2nd semester, while
the subject of the diploma work takes place during the 2nd semester and is completed
during the summer period, until the end of the academic year.

The program of each semester lasts thirteen (13) weeks and is developed in weekly two- to
three-hour lectures, intensive seminars and assignments, depending on the requirements
of the course and the teacher’s preference. In any case, the maximum time for the
completion of the studies, including the evaluation of the postgraduate thesis, cannot
exceed three (3) years from the registration of the student at the program.
